What I'm thankful for

Happy Thanksgiving!! So I was hoping to set aside time to blog about what I'm thankful for on a computer. Guess what? Didn't happen! So I'm sitting in the car typing out my blog entry via blackberry.

So here it goes...
I'm thankful for:
- life that the Lord has given me
- my wonderful, supporting family who loves me unconditionally
- to the most wonderful boyfriend in the world
- my awesome 2nd family who is always there for me
- my friends for being SO awesome!!
- to darlyn for I would not be able to survive life's obstacles without you.
- to my school mates and instructors for helping shape me into becoming a confident and competent nurse
- to all the people in my life who have influenced it in one way or another. Without you I definitely would not be the woman I am today.

I'm on the go now so I'm feeling slightly car sick. I think it's time to end it here.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

i am finally home (actually it's been about 45 mintues now) from watching New Moon!! I just wanted to give the readers a warning about a spoiler alert. I won't be afraid to reveal the story line if you haven't read the books yet. First let me tell you about my night... I arrived there around 6:45 and let me tell you, the lines were CRAZY long! 6 theaters total, perhaps even more, had tons of people lined up to see the movie. keep in mind this is a quarter to 7 and the movie doesn't show till 12:01. I don't think there was ever a time where i actually camped out for a movie like this before. I mean I watched The Dark Knight, but that line was whatever and we watched a 3:20am showing. Surprisingly, the wait wasn't too bad. I was lucky enough to have good company with mary. we were finally seated around 10:00 and i was SOOO anxious for the movie to begin. It hit 12:01 and the movie began! here's just a brief review of the movie for me.

now i personally can't remember every detail of New Moon and sometimes i forget what parts happened in which book. I actually thought the movie was good. I know there are a lot of Twilight fans out there who are going to mention that the book was better that there was more detail in the book, but wtf do you expect?! I thought the movie was a pretty good illustration of the jist of the new moon story. I get it, some of the apparitions of Edward while he was gone was a little over the top and lame, but hey, Edward can't be completely left out of the movie can he? The thing that I liked about New Moon was considering the fact that I am all for Edward and Bella being together, watching her moments with Jacob wasn't too bad. Don't get me wrong, Jacob Black is an amazing character, but when I was physically reading New Moon, it was difficult for me to get through the parts without Edward in it, and i do keep telling people that New Moon was my last favorite of the four. I felt like i enjoy New Moon more because of the movie.

So yeah, overall, I would give the movie a great job just because I love seeing the book illustrated for me to see. It gives me the imagination as I'm reading the words in the book.

Alright so now that this awesome premiere is over and done with, the next few things I have to focus my thoughts to are:
- Finishing up sentiments and the slideshow for graduation
- working.... hurrah.
- Heat for Niel and Anne's birthday bash!
- working on group projects
- Thanksgiving Break!!

Ughh hectic morning

I really should wake up earlier.. I can't help it though, I just get so sleepy in the morning that I don't even want to wake up. ESPECIALLY when it's cold outside!

So anyway it's my last week of clinicals so we are DONE after tomorrow!

It was nuts yesterday... I had received the copies of our grad announcement to be handed out to everyone yesterday AND we were watching the slideshow created by yours truly.. (Haha). It was just a weird feeling... As I was separating the annoucements in groups of 10 and hearing everyone's reaction to this manifestation I created to sum up an interesting, educational, and long hard working year; it finally hit me. For 48 weeks I've worked so hard to practice being a safe and competent nurse. For 48 weeks, I have created bonds and friendships with the most interesting 28 people in my life. I am so overwhelmed with the fact that aside from graduating elementary school and high school, I am actually graduating in the profession I will have for the rest of my life. Of course I'll continue to achieve my RN and BSN, but still!! Literally a year and a half ago, I wasn't too sure about what I wanted to do with my life; taking bullshit classess here and there. Now I can honestly say that I am proud to graduate as a medical professional.

Ok enough of my rant... I gotta jet to class.

New Mooooooon

So the highly anticipated film New Moon is out in 3 DAYYYYSSSSS!!! Omg you have no idea how freakishly excited I am for this movie to come out!!

I have been counting down since 180+ days! GAHHH I feel squirmy and giddy. I can't wait to be in line, to see the beginning credits ahh, I wanna die. Hahaha

Anyway, I don't really feel like blogging much on my bb, and plus I have important things to tend to.

I'm still awake

I've managed to stay up til' this ridiculous hour so I feel it's most appropriate to study for my musculoskeletal exam to pass the time.... Yes I am reading my review guide on my phone. Ha!
Hmmm, I'm thinking if I should debut my graduation photo... My eyes look kinda crazy in them. Haha I kinda wanted to book a small photo session with my friend who takes awesome shots!! Check her blog out with some of her pieces @ www.eloisanadine.blogspot.com

hello collllld weather

i finally decided to change my layout a little in lieu of the upcoming thanksgiving holiday.

i know what you're thinking... why am i up at 0036 on an early Monday morning.
it's been cold for the past two days to the point where i need a heater in my room or i need to be wrapped up tight in a warm blanket! so sleeping is usually difficult for me just because it takes a while for me to adjust to the weather changes. gahhhhd, for all we know, it might end up being umbearably hot tomorrow.

This is Halloween..

And the Halloween festivities begin!! Tomorrow at least.

I've literally been sick in bed the whole night with my raddie taking care of me. I honestly am not planning on getting my "party" on in the cold while blowing my nose every so often throughout the night. So I've been loading up on 1000mg of Vita-C and 10mg of loratadine.

Anyhoo, since my eyes have finally given up remaining open, I bid a good night to fb, my phone, and my blog..

p.s.= this is how long it's been since I've had alcohol in my system: I drank 1 corona on an empty stomach, and I think I was buzzed already.

It's official, I'm a one beer queer.
Sorry I don't drink everyday and that I study 24/7 that I can't drink and have low tolerance for alcohol.

safety, safety, safety!!!

so i've been UNBELIEVABLY busy with school! the good news is that i have only about 42 weeks left! =) i start clinicals after next week and i'm both nervous and excited. i just wanted to give the readers (whoever the heck is still reading this thing) a little update on what's been going on in my lifeeeee.

i miss my friends. i miss you, girls. i wanna party and party HARD, but i can't. it's okay. once i finish school, get a good job, and make $$, we can party all day every day!


but until that day, the nursing process, patient assessments, and observations are my new best friend.

sorry, my life is officially boring. plus i'm distracted by wowoweeeeeeeeeeeeee.
i'm crazy.

it's about damn time

i know, it's been a while since i've last updated my blog, but since i have my first major test tomorrow (technically later on this morning) and i simply cannot go to sleep, i figured now would be a good chance to do so.

ah yes. December 22, declaring my acceptance into the LVN program at Downey.
now time to recall the events that occurred between that time and now.

12/24 - christmas eve w/the fam & loves. opened gifts @ home.
12/25 - christmas party in Corona
12/26 - awesome birthday celebration @ Ivar in Hollywood
12/27 - i cried cause my parents were home for my birthday. haha!! then dinner @ Mama D's which by the way was the best birthday dinner in the whole entire world. super "trendy" and "hip" lounge/bar called Memphis.
12/28 - CHURCH! & bday lunch w/ family, the Lims, & ducky babe. dinner @ rad's w/his fam from Canada then off to their place in Hollywood.
12/31 - new years eve @ Fontanilla (1st patron shots w/cousins. ha, it's about time!) count down @ home. the first time i was home for the countdown in over 4 years. then spent the rest of the new year w/ raddie.
1/1 - mama's old college friend comes to visit from Canada
1/2 - Happy Birthday Ate Arlene! took mom's friends to Hollywood (it was COLD and FOGGY)
1/3 - Happy Birthday Mahalia!! went to P.F. Changs for the 1st time for May's bday.
1/4 - last day of freedom!
1/5 - school starts. and it was probably the toughest day of the week. i was super exhausted!!

basically from the 5th - now i've been at school. so far raddie and i have had 2 quizzes and we have our first exam tomorrow. =)

so going back to my bday celebrations.... thank you to:

lastly to my LOML. you made my birthday the best!! you have no idea how thankful i am of all that you've done. from my very cute bday dress, to planning ride arrangements, to actually driving everywhere, to paying for my bottle service and dinner. i could not ask for more. i love you!!


so i know. it's super lame for even putting that shit up but i really wanted to take the time to thank the people that mean something in my life. whether or not you were able to go to any of my shindigs, greeting me happy birthday was enough for me! i love you all, and i cherish each and every one of your friendships. i mean that with complete sincerity. i've lost lots of friends and i feel like i should give such recognition to the friends that i have. i love you & thank you for being there for me.

ew, so now that i'm done with that, i think it's about time to go to sleep... or take some ibuprofen bc my cramps are KILLER! good night all. i shall update again soon.

Peepee & I made it into DAS's LVN program!!
Yay, now we'll have no lives for a whole year.

The final stretch

So this week is the last week of my Pre Vocational Nursing Class. In less than 4 days I will be finding out of pee and I get into the program!! Yes, it's very exciting!! Anyhoo, we've been studying our asses off so hopefully we'll be guaranteed a spot. I mean come on now, 5 weeks with an average score of 90+ has to count for something!

So btw, the photo up above is what pee and I both made for our friendsies in class. Ta-da!

I know it's getting annoying that I give pee different nicknames everytime I post, but I kind of like it even though it sounds like "pease" but pease and pee are too different people who might I add are very important in my life!

So after all this studying and such, the next thing I'm absolutely looking forward to is my getaway vacation. I've been so stressed with school & especially work that going on this vacay with the one who keeps me sane is going to be such an amazing experience for me. I can't wait!!!! 6 more days till I'm in the city of lights, Vegas baby!!

Ok I really need to sleep & call pee to make sure he sells my Wii on EBay cause I NEED MONIES FOR VEGAS!!!!!
