yes we can!

Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America!!!

congrats to everyone who voted for change in our country & congrats to all the young voters who voted this election. i feel so honored to be part of history! being able to vote & witness the first African American president be voted into office is so overwhelming. i've been glued to my television for the past 2 days & i never watch TV, especially the news. it's so amazing how people are coming together because they feel like change is what we need in our government! hurray for change!!

so there was all this fuss yesterday about how lines at the polls were like 1-2 hours long. ha, sucks for them. i waited no more than 20 mintues! but then again i live in the outskirts of Lakewood right by HG & the outskirts of Long Beach. yes yes, it was my first election (the 2005 election came earlier than my December birthday) and I must say it was exciting to actually take time out of my schedule to go and vote for our next president of the united states. i even got a sticker to show for it! =)

anyhoo, about the hot topic prop 8 it's sad to know that same-sex marriage is now officially (or at least MIGHT be officially) banned from the U.S. my personal views on this topic?

although i might not know the full extent of this topic, i believe that everyone has a right to marry whoever they choose. I believe that restricting people from marrying anyone they choose is wrong! i understand the catholic beliefs. I was born & raised a catholic, I attended catholic private school for 12 years, yet with this ever changing world, I accept and respect how people want to live their lives. it should be no one's authority to tell people how to live out their lives, or who they should marry. think of it as discrimination. discrimination against the gay & lesbian community. they should be treated just as equal as everyone else... it amazes me that there is still discrimination going on. i mean haven't we learned from our past??

ok so on a lighter note.... guess who's watching T.I. tonight?............... ME! & peepee of course.
we're going all the way to burbank to wait in what might be a 2 or 3 hour line to see T.I. perform like... 1 or 2 songs? who knows. the good thing is it was free!

i suppose i'll talk about school at a later date.
it's guitar hero time. =)

peace.
